I have been selected to speak at PHP Quebec at the end of March. Given big names in PHP like Ilia Alshanetsky and Derick Rethans will be there (– and I will finally get to meet Chris Shiflett face-to-face), I am honored by this opportunity to share my experience bringing PHP to the enterprise. I will be talking about Enterprise PHP Coding Standards–the subject of issue 03.05 of International PHP Magazine and also a series of blog entries on this site (see part one, part two, and part three). I hear Montreal is a beautiful city, and am looking forward to the conference. So far I have been preparing by listening to KD Lang’s Hymns Of The 49th Parallel on repeat. More on this blog as I prepare for the talk and expand my thinking on the importance of coding standards in the enterprise.

Congratulations on the invite to speak at the conference! That’s quite a feather in your cap, and the subject matter is something that sorely needs a spotlight, as you’ve mentioned before. Kudos to you!
As we get closer to the time, perhaps you can let us know your logistics…this could be an opportunity for you and I to meet as well…I’m about 90 mins away from Montreal.
