Major Families:
The Evans family has been traced back to Wales in 1673, with the birth of Robert Evans. He immigrated to the Cocheco settlement, now called Dover, NH and was an important man as evidenced by town record. The family history is colorful but too extensive to detail here. Frequent dealings with Native American tribes, as well as in the Philippines and Colombia would suggest these people were missionaries, colonialists, or both. The family has a longstanding history of military service. They seem to have valued education.
