Oregon, Chapter Three

Packed and ready to go.I leave tomorrow for the third residency of the Pacific Unviversity MFA in writing. Despite a brief reprieve from lashing rain here in Southern California, I am doubtless now heading straight into the source of the wet. No matter. I have been longing to reconnect with friends and teachers up North, and look forward to kicking off my essay semester with full days of workshops, lectures, readings, and other events. As usual, I will do my best (depending on my stamina and the hotel WiFi situation this year) to post the occasional tidbit from this immersive experience in craft.

p.s. to say I made it as far as Portland, but no further tonight. The flight was delayed at LAX for over three hours, causing me to miss the bus that goes over the mountain at this end. It is apparently snowing hard in Seaside, which means icy mountain passes between here (Portland) and there. So, I’ll be heading for the coast tomorrow morning, hoping not to miss the first craft talk.

p.p.s. to say I finally arrived late this afternoon. Oregon has *weather*.

Hmm. My post didn’t post. Ok, again then.

I was wondering how all would fare on this journey from all points south. What a weekend of storms. And I was going to drive! Fat chance! Glad to hear you made it safe and sound.
