2007 Ojai Poetry Festival

Unfortunately, it is not true that I read during the festival - committee members are not eligible for for consideration in the regional poets ensemble, and the open mic was my one opportunity to slip away for a quick and much-needed cat nap during the whirlwind of events. I still believe poetry is needed more than ever in our fast-paced world, though. Having so many lovely poets in Ojai only helped affirm this for me.

It sounds like a great time. Such a variety of poetry by accomplished poets.
Variety indeed. Who would have thought such a specific theme ("Poetry & The Voice of the Earth") would have brought in such different voices? Diversity in specificity; creativity in limitation. Ain’t it always the way?
