		<description>Hi there. I live in Southern California and study at Pacific University in Oregon.  The process to getting there was very unique for me since I know one of the faculty and wanted to study with him. That said, the overarching principle that has served me in this situation is to follow my intuition. I read the poems of faculty at different programs and tried to imagine what it would be like to study under them. I&#039;m very grateful that I got into the program I did, and that I decided to go there. It has fit like a glove so far.

I added a link to my &quot;Doing Your MFA In Writing All Over Again (or, what every MFA student should know at the beginning that graduating students have learned by the end.)&quot; at the end of this post. There is some very interesting discussion in the comments section there about MFA programs - from long-time graduates and those who have never done them as well. Here is the link again:
