I think it’s a shame to hear about any spoken word place or event ending. Anyway, looks like I missed the final reading.

    Hi Scott,

According to poetix.net, Barry Miller has stepped in to host a similar monthly reading at Zoey’s called Lyrically Speaking. No student’s from Gwendolyn’s class and a $ 7 charge at the door – but at least something somewhat similar is still going on at Zoey’s. Here’s what they say:

A mish-mash of poetry, spoken word, music and comedy
Second Sunday pf the month, 7 – 9pm
    Zoey’s Café
    (El Jardin Courtyard)
    451 E. Main Street, Ventura

February 11: Gauvin, Ryan Gillenwater, Doris Vernon, Roe Estep, Phil Taggart, Erik Harber (the Zen Comic), Jani Baldwin and The Lyrically Speaking House Band.
