PHP Magazine - a Bold New Direction
Along with the current issue containing my article on the ZCE exam, International PHP Magazine has announced a bold new move: they’re going digital, and staying there. Publishing a PDF version every month will allow them to reach an international audience faster (my contributor’s copies sometimes took months to arrive from Germany!). And, while I must admit I’ll miss the feel of the glossy magazine in my hand every other month, I’m pleased to know that IPM will reach more people with more timely information, and wish them all the best in this new adventure.

I know what you mean about the glossy feel, my first article for the magazine came out in this issue so I missed seeing my name in print by two months! Sigh, that pesky ego. The Web is really our publishing platform anyway, and perhaps someday it will enjoy the same status as the printed word.
I think that this is a really great idea since the magazine will be able to reach a bigger audience. Publishing this on the internet will be beneficial to both the magazine because of the increase in reader amount and to the readers because it’s going to be easier to access.
